I've made a few sensory boards for my 2 youngest kids
I made them from a cereal box,. Each one is 8cm x 6cm
I've made 12 in total
Here's what I used:
match sticks
coloured paper clips
macaroni
feathers
buttons
tin foil
pine nuts
foil mesh
glitter
pompoms
sequins
pipe cleaners
Any more ideas on what I could use?

Hey Natasha thanks for linking up! You were one of the most viewed links this week. Check it out tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteLove your boards!
How about velcro, sandpaper, fur, satin. Also shells and a ziplock bag with a bit of paint in it. Put in the paint until there is enough to create a layer when the bag is placed flat. Then zip it shut, fold the top over and secure with strong tape, then stick it onto the board.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea, thanks for sharing.
What a great and simple activity! My daughter is only 3 months right now, so I'm collecting great toddler activities now!
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm so impressed how you used stuff I would never think of. I've also done a texture board for my kids, but it's very simple - I've just used different types of fabric. You can see it here - http://stepfordska-supruga-en.blogspot.com/2012/10/diy-texture-board-and-picturebook.html
ReplyDeleteJust a reminder...this looks like a fun activity BUT something to do with your child vs. leaving your child ALONE with the sensory boards....I see lots of chocking hazards!
